Pedestrian killed in crash on Desert Inn and Pecos McLeod, driver impairment not suspected – Las Vegas, Nevada

On September 4 at approximately 8:42 p.m., a vehicle hit a pedestrian on Desert Inn Road east of the intersection with Pecos McLeod Interconnect.

The pedestrian, identified as 36-year-old Larry Bright III died after being transported to the hospital.

Evidence at the scene and witness statements indicated Bright was crossing Desert Inn Road southbound outside of a marked or implied crosswalk.

In 2007, the Chrysler Aspen was driving east on the left side of the three east-facing lanes. A collision occurred when a pedestrian entered the Chrysler road.

The front of Chrysler hit the pedestrian’s right side, causing him to stick forward and into the roadway.

Pedestrians were taken to Sunrise Hospital by EMS and succumbed to the injured.

The Chrysler driver stayed at the collision site and cooperated with the investigation. There is no doubt that the failure caused the collision.

Pedestrian deaths marked the 90th traffic-related death in the LVMPD jurisdiction in 2021. This collision remains under investigation by the LVMPD Collision Investigation Section.
