“We wanted to produce a new lineup of shows that help to spark that flame of ambition and drive in people to go for their business dreams. I want to show the blood, sweat, and tears it will take to really make it.” — Grant Cardone on 10X Studios By GCTV Staff -May 18, 2022

If you were in an elevator with Warren Buffet, how would you describe your company, your services or products? What makes your company different from others? What is your company’s biggest strength?

Grant Cardone: Warren, I started my company from scratch with no debt, no connections, and no investors, and it does $155 million a year, helping people grow their businesses.

I also raised $1 billion in cash to allow everyday investors to participate in institutional quality real estate deals alongside me, avoiding Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, and the big boys. My biggest strength is that we make money for our investors, partners, and the companies that hire us.

In the past year, what is the greatest business achievement you’d like to celebrate with your team? Please share the details of that success.

Grant Cardone: Our big success this year was expanding to a Scottsdale office and location and adding 15 new partnership companies that we have committed to run and manage.

What advice do you wish you had received when you started your business journey and what do you intend on improving in the next quarter?

Grant Cardone: I wish someone would have helped me with financial targets & think big. I started my business without understanding finance, targets and how to scale.

Quiet quitting, The Great Resignation, are an ongoing trend causing many businesses to struggle keeping talent engaged and motivated. Most are leaving because of their boss or their company culture. 82% of people feel unheard, undervalued and misunderstood in the workplace. In your experience, what keeps employees happy? And how are adapting to the current shift we see?

Grant Cardone: We have an extremely strong work culture, inspired by our COO, Sheri Hamilton, where we welcome people to work each day, making work a sexy and fun thing to do and participate in.

We get our people excited about work and success, we get them engaged, we track and celebrate their progress, and we reward them.

Online business keeps on surging higher than ever, B2B, B2C, online shopping, virtual meetings, remote work, Zoom medical consultations, what are your expectations for the year to come and how are you capitalizing on the tidal wave?

Grant Cardone: We have a nice balance between the virtual and physical universe, using zoom video and audio spaces to reach more people. And then we provide the same audience, when they’re ready, the opportunity to network with real people.

We do 300+ events a year, half of which are LIVE physical events. This week we are doing a virtual event for almost 1,000,000 people around the world.

Here is a two-fold question: What is the book that influenced you the most and how? Please share some life lessons you learned. Now what book have you gifted the most and why?

Grant Cardone: Every single book I’ve read assists me in achieving success. It’s staying curious and reading about the success of those who have achieved it, not one single book above others has contributed most to my business success.

It is the accumulation of reading and study that has contributed to the success I have. I think it’s a false narrative to suggest that just one book does anything for anyone; rather, it is the continuous study of great examples in business.

Most of what I read about is how others have created success for themselves when they started, how they have scaled, how they succeeded, and how they scale it again.

Christopher Hitchens, an American journalist, is quoted as saying that “everyone has a book in them” Have you written a book? If so, please share details with us about it. If you haven’t, what book would you like to write, and how would you like it to benefit the readers?

Grant Cardone: I have written eight business books and 21 best-selling business programs. I am probably most known for my books, The 10X Rule & Sell or Be Sold.

Business is all about overcoming obstacles and creating opportunities for growth. What do you see as THE real challenge right now?

Grant Cardone: The biggest challenge for businesses today is twofold: One, getting out of obscurity with the public so that they trust you as a business entity or service, and the second biggest problem is cash flow.

Most people have no clue how to manage cash flow, many don’t even know how to create it, and most, if not all, have no clue how to scale it.

In your experience, what tends to be the most underestimated part of running a company? Can you share an example?

Grant Cardone: Marketing is the number one most misunderstood & neglected activity in a business. Great businesses know how to market, and most people have no clue. My first job as an executive in any and all of my companies is to be a promotional facility.

My second AND third jobs are ALSO to be a promotional facility and make sure the world knows who I am and what we do.

2020, 2021, and 2022 threw a lot of curve balls into businesses on a global scale. Based on the experience gleaned in the past years, how can businesses thrive in 2023? What lessons have you learned, and what advice would you share?

Grant Cardone: You’ve got to scale your business outside of one vertical and make sure you’re never dependent upon just a handful of customers. Staying small is not a solution.

Better service is not a solution. The only solution to protecting your business, your finances, your name, and your brand is to expand.

On a lighter note, if you had the ability to pick any business superpower, what would it be, and how would you put it into practice?

Grant Cardone: My business superpowers are marketing, persistence, and target attainment.

What does “success” in the year to come mean to you? It could be on a personal or business level; please share your vision.

Grant Cardone: Success for me this year means we would 10X our customer base, investors, and partners. The more people we serve, the more success stories we have.

The more investors we have at Cardone Capital, the more money we pay families around the world, and the more success we generate for everyone involved.
