Do you also feel that your left/right airpod is a bit louder than the other one? then you are not alone in facing this problem. This is one of the most common issues that Airpods owners have. In this blog, we discuss how to solve this issue of “One Airpod louder than the other”. Well, not everyone can afford to throw them away because of these minor problems. The methods that we are going to share have been tried and tested by us. So, we hope that you find your solution here.

How to Fix if One AirPod Is Louder Than the Other?

1. Suck on the speaker

You may find this method childish but it is one of the most effective methods to fix this problem of yours. In the case, where one of your Airpod is louder than the other than suck on the speaker of the Airpod. You have to do so with the one whose sound is softer in comparison to the other. You just have to keep doing and checking it repeatedly until the sound gets better. This is because it clears the ear wax that is accumulated by using it for some time.

Please ensure that you use a thin cloth between as you suck on it. Then use the cloth to wipe the Airpod each time after blowing. You may also feel the air go in the airpod and that can also tell you that the sound is getting better.

2. Adjust the Audio Volume Balance

You have the option to increase or decrease the volume of sound available in the Settings of your iPhone. The result of the output comes out with either of the Airpods. This method has worked for many of Apple users. You just have to ensure that the Airpods are equally producing the same volume. We will provide you a guide on how to do this on your iPhone or iPad in iOS 13:

  • Open Settings on your iPhone and click on Accessibility.
  • Secondly, click on Audio/Visual under the Hearing option. Here you have to adjust the audio volume balance slider between the left and right channels of your AirPods. What you need to do is keep it aligned in middle so that you have an equal volume of sound.

Note: If you have old versions that iOS 12 then the process will be: Settings>General>Accessibility>Hearing

3. Clean it

You should keep cleaning your Airpods from time to time as they are not water and dust-resistant. So, it is natural that your Airpods may accumulate dirt and wax with time. The chances are high especially if you keep it in the charging case where dust can accumulate more. You can do this, firstly, by using a soft toothbrush to gently brush the speaker grills. After doing so, wipe it with a clean cloth every time you brush it. Secondly, you can use a cotton swab and wipe the speaker grills gently.

Note: You can try damping the cloth or cotton with water or alcohol lightly. Then proceed with the above procedure. But please ensure that you don’t use the water or alcohol overly. Because that can make things worse as the speakers are delicate. For maximum effectiveness, combine this step with the first one.

4. Try Your AirPods With Another Device

After trying all the above-mentioned methods, if you don’t find any improvement then it is time to check whether your AirPods are faulty in some way. The best way to do this is to connect your AirPods with other devices such as PC, Mac, iPad, iPhone, etc. After connection, if you think that the Airpods work well with the other device then maybe the problem is not with your Airpods. Rather your original device may require a reset in its settings. Follow these steps:

  • Firstly, open the Settings and click on General.
  • Secondly, tap on Reset.
  • Lastly, tap on Reset All Settings. Quoting Apple here, ‘resetting all settings includes  — your network settings/Wi-Fi passwords, the keyboard dictionary, the Home screen layout, location settings, privacy settings, and Apple Pay cards are removed or reset to their defaults.’ So, it means that none of your data is deleted.

After completing the reset. try and see if your AirPods once again work.

5. Visit Apple and Ask For Replacement

Well, the last method is quite obvious. If none of the above methods works then it is better to pay a visit to your nearest Apple Authorized Service Provider. You can tell them your problem and ask if you qualify for a replacement. It will be easily possible if you are on warranty period and the Airpods are less than a year old.

You can also choose to talk on the phone before personally making a visit. There is always an online solution available in this time period so, contact them for assistance.

Conclusion

We hope that any of the above methods work for you so that you don’t lose your precious AirPods. Mostly, the first three solve the problems so, you don’t have to worry about the extreme. Thank you for reading our blog!
