Tova Traesnaes Borgnine was an American businesswoman who was born Tove Traesnaes. She is the founder of Beauty by Tova cosmetics and the widow of actor Ernest Borgnine from Hollywood.
Tova was born in Oslo, Norway, to a graphic artist father and a translator mother who worked at the US Embassy.
She went to the United States with her mother at the age of eight, following her parents’ divorce; she did not know English at the time.
Tova studied acting in Manhattan, but she also acquired a passion for cosmetics application.
She launched a cosmetics facility after marrying a New Jersey businessman in 1965. When her marriage fell apart, she relocated her company to Las Vegas to be closer to her mother.

The couple had a son together. On February 24, 1973, she became Ernest Borgnine’s fifth wife. Their marriage lasted until his death in 2012 at the age of 95.
During the 1960s, Tova worked as a secretary for textile magnate Louis Littleton in Point Pleasant, NJ, and gave birth to his child while still married to Jane Waldron Littleton.
Tove placed the child for adoption with an Asbury Park lawyer. Tove married Littleton after their marriage fell up, and he funded “Tove’s Touch,” a makeup boutique in Sea Girt, New Jersey.
